Main duties and responsibilities

JOB PURPOSE:
The primary purpose of the Control Room Refining/Energy/Dryer Operator is to perform day to day activities related to production of boards. This includes but is not limited to: the operation of all pre-refining and refining equipment, NESS, drying system, RTO, initial response to all alarms in the production area, detailed understanding of all equipment function and lay out, boiler water testing and treatment, water treatment chemical inventory, quality testing, housekeeping, rounds, cleanliness and inspections of the following areas; Refining, Energy, Forming, Drying, RTO, and Wood yard. The Operator is responsible for processing lab quality tests in absence of lab technician. Meet production goals of their team and the company. Maintain high level of accuracy and quality and cleanliness in each area.

This position will be required to work a rotating shift schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Basic Computer Skills – Ability to understand computer programs to input and monitor
• The ability to identify root cause of issues during production and document issue(s) on required logs
• Keen attention to detail
• The ability to consistently work on plant (concrete) production floor and utilize stairs
• The ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds
• The ability to bend, lift, stand, kneel, and move for extended periods of time
• Dexterity of hands and fingers to utilize appropriate equipment and tools
• Excellent attendance record
• The ability to work a rotating shift

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Ability to work on-call availability and periodic overtime
• Mechanical education/certification a plus

PHYSICAL JOB REQUIREMENTS: Activities and Safety Equipment
• Face shield/goggles and high visibility vest occasionally required up to 1/3 of time.
• Sitting, climbing, lifting, push/pulling, reaching, bending and written communication frequently required 1/3 to ½ of time. Dust Mask / respirator required 1/3 to ½ of time.
• Standing, walking, seeing, hearing, dexterity, verbal communication, hard hat, ear plugs, safety shoes and safety glasses continuously required 2/3 or more.
