Main duties and responsibilities
JOB BASICS
The Bi-lingual Buyer position purchases materials, supplies, equipment and services from suppliers in Spanish speaking countries. The position is responsible for the competitive purchase of a wide variety of parts, material, equipment, supplies, assemblies, commodities, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) items and services. The position will be directly responsible for the procurement of materials to support manufacturing and overall business objectives. This position will also support the objectives of the Procurement Team, collaborate closely with Maintenance, Production and Planning, and support the company's overall growth plan. The position will represent the company with a high degree of professionalism when dealing with suppliers, internal and external customers and associates. The Bi-lingual Buyer position must follow all Kronospan Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
• Advanced Spanish and English speaking ability
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Ability to make thoughtful time management decisions independently.
• Ability to prioritize work, resolve issues, meet deadlines, and seek feedback from management. Ability to discern between urgent and non-urgent issues and act accordingly to solve them.
• Understanding of purchasing processes and procedures
• Must have exceptional analytical and problem solving abilities
• Team player with the ability to work and interact with all levels throughout the organization
• Original thinking and creativity through resourcefulness, suggestions and problem solving
• Self-motivated and comfortable working individually and as part of a team.
• High energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
• Flexibility to handle continually changing priorities/demands
• Ability to understand advanced manufacturing concepts
• Strong negotiation and communication skills
• Ability to pass a post-offer physical and drug screen
WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
• Demonstrated history of perfect or near-perfect attendance
• Experience with international purchasing and logistics
• 3+ years in a fast paced manufacturing purchasing setting
