Main duties and responsibilities

The Roles:
• Lead database administration/maintenance for the Service Centre, ensuring a consistent quality of service and optimal utilisation of our databases, their associated services and ETL;
• Proactively monitor and manage the security, integrity and performance of all corporate databases and associated application software;
• Setup and configure new or existing database systems with master / slave replication;
• Conducting analysis on performance, investigating and resolving recurring issues;
• Design the corporate database backup, archiving, and storage strategies including developing appropriate disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for the databases;
• Management of servers / infrastructure including consideration of database capacity and ensuring that future expansion requirements are planned appropriately;
• Provide on call support per rota

Requirements

Ideal Candidates:
• Minimum 2-3 years' experience with database administration focussed on Oracle and/or SQL technologies;
• Educated to degree level in a ICT discipline or 5 years' experience within a IT services environment;
• Highly proficient at fault-finding, prioritising and troubleshooting issues, multi-tasking to adapt business requirements;
• Mobility - readiness for extensive travelling will be required;
• Advanced knowledge of English is essential, other European languages would be an advantage
