About us

Kronospan Ltd, a leading wood-based panel manufacturer, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Chirk, Wrexham.

Are you a skilled Instrumentation Engineer with a strong understanding of COMAH regulations? Do you thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

In this critical role, you will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation and safety of our production facilities.

Main duties and responsibilities

o Perform installation, maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of instrumentation and control systems.
o Ensure process control systems are functioning efficiently and safely in line with operational requirements.
o Develop and implement technical solutions for process improvement and optimisation.
o Participate in project work, including design, installation, and commissioning of new instrumentation.
o Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation for all instrumentation systems.
o Work closely with maintenance personnel, production teams, and engineers to identify and resolve instrumentation issues.
o Adhere to all relevant health and safety regulations, including COMAH regulations.

Requirements

o Minimum 3 years' experience as an Instrumentation Engineer within a manufacturing environment.
o Time served apprenticeship trained, or minimum level 3
o Proven experience working in a COMAH regulated site.
o Strong understanding of instrumentation principles, including process control, calibration techniques, and loop tuning.
o Experience with PLC, SCADA, and DCS systems is highly desirable.
o Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
o Effective communication and collaboration skills.
o Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
o A strong commitment to health and safety.
