Main duties and responsibilities

1. Design and Patent Evaluation
Analyze new designs and technical solutions for patentability and registrability.
Conduct preliminary searches to assess novelty and uniqueness.
2. Documentation Preparation
Prepare technical descriptions, drawings, and supporting documentation for industrial design and patent applications.
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and patent attorneys to ensure accuracy and compliance.
3. Application Management
Coordinate the filing of applications in national and international IP offices.
Track the status of applications and manage deadlines for responses and renewals.
4. IP Record Maintenance
Maintain internal database of registered designs, patents, and pending applications.
Ensure documentation is properly stored and accessible for audits and legal use.
5. Legal and Compliance Support
Monitor potential IP infringements and assist in enforcement activities.
Stay updated on changes in IP legislation and communicate relevant updates to stakeholders.
6. Cross-functional Communication
Serve as a liaison between R&D, Legal, and external patent agents.
Provide internal guidance on IP protection strategy and best practices.

Requirements

Higher education in engineering, industrial design, materials science, or a related technical field.
Basic knowledge of intellectual property law (especially industrial design and patents).
Experience in working with IP documentation and filing procedures is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; ability to work with technical drawings and CAD files is an advantage.
