Main duties and responsibilities

The Purchasing Manager is responsible for ensuring the site procurement strategy is aligned with Kronospan's strategic requirements. The Purchasing Manager contributes to the planning, development, communication and implementation of all procurement activities for the site. Duties of this position include but are not limited to:
• Manage all aspects of sourcing strategy, including contracting and related purchasing decisions, in order to continuously improve product quality and profitability for the company
• Develop plans and implement continuous improvements within the procurement processes, reducing costs associated with transactions, minimizing resources needed to manage the process and increasing the speed of processing transactions.
• Develop and manage parts inventory planning and purchasing processes using technology and data to eliminate waste and increase productivity
• Negotiate with vendors for the purchase of materials, supplies, equipment, and services used by Kronospan with consideration to price and service guarantees
• Conduct supplier analysis, evaluate potential suppliers, and manage the overall supplier qualification process by utilizing metrics, tools, and processes.
• Develop, implement and manage multi-year contracts.
• Work to minimize inventory levels to maximize cash flow, working capital and storage capabilities while ensuring adequate inventory to support business needs.
• Develop and create sourcing plans, requests for proposal, and other sourcing documents and processes.
• Renegotiate, renew and discontinue supplier contracts; oversee performance of Vendor Managed programs

Requirements

• Excellent oral and written communication skills, positive interpersonal skills along with demonstrated presentation ability
• Must have special knowledge of Accounting / Purchasing applications and ability to work with mathematical concepts; ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and the ability to work without direct supervision
• Strong customer service skills and sense of urgency
• Advanced knowledge of the legal terminology and language related to supplier and/or vendor agreements and contracts.
• Advanced experience with ERP systems.
• Knowledge of contract procedures, data analysis/interpretation, financial analysis, forecasting and legal limitations.

WHAT WILL PUT YOU AHEAD
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field preferred. CSCP or CPP certification preferred.
