Main duties and responsibilities
Coordinates and participates in maintaining process automation and network functionality. Installs, repairs and maintains process automation control systems and process information networks; installs, programs, and maintains Programmable Logic Controls (PLC's) and related process automation and control systems; supports network communications and associated hardware. Provides troubleshooting support plant-wide; provides expertise to ensure understanding of process characteristics to all employees.
Requirements
- PLC hardware configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
- Low level PLC software development, maintenance and analysis
- Instrumentation specialist (including installation, calibration and PID tuning)
- Proficient with VFD's (Variable Frequency Drives) including configuring and backing up parameters
- Maintain proficiencies in control system maintenance and trouble shooting including: industrial computer systems, operating systems, software, ethernet network (hardware and software), and specialized controllers
-Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and pneumatic control devices
- MUST be able to read and utilize control schematics and electrical diagrams
- Understand Continuous Process Improvement techniques to recommend mill efficiency improvements
- Monitor and review hardware and software products relating to automation and information technologies, and keeps current in technological trends
- Perform all other related duties as assigned
