Kronospan Ltd, a leading manufacturer of wood-based panels, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Financial Controller to join our team in Chirk, Wrexham.

Main duties and responsibilities

In this key role, you will be responsible for:
• Developing and maintaining the annual budget and 5-year plan, providing financial direction for the company.
• Overseeing all financial controls, governance, and policies, keeping them up-to-date with regulatory changes and company values.
• Fostering a strong and supportive team environment, mentoring colleagues and driving continuous improvement in processes.
• Partnering with all departments across the site to identify profit improvement opportunities and cost efficiencies.
• Empowering department heads to become more accountable for their financial performance.
• Continuously seeking ways to streamline and optimise the Finance Department's operations.
• Deputising for the CFO, as required, for Kronospan UK matters.
• Preparing and reviewing financial presentations to support company investment plans.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with:
• A relevant accounting qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in a finance, ideally within a manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and financial modelling skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across all levels.
• A proactive and results-oriented approach, with a passion for continuous improvement.
• Experience in leading and motivating a team.
