Main duties and responsibilities

The HR Specialist's position performs duties including but not limited to payroll coordination and submission, benefits enrollment and coordination, work uniform coordination, and correspondence. The Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely processing of the bi-weekly payroll ensuring that the company is in compliance with federal and state laws and responsible for the administration of employee benefits. The Specialist maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential. The Specialist position assists with the administration of all benefits to include medical, dental, life insurance, Short Term and Long-Term disability, EAP and 401(k) plan. This position also performs certain clerical duties such as filing, answering/forwarding calls, and answering employee inquiries. The position also performs certain clerical and reporting on behalf of the Plant Manager.

Requirements

- 1 year experience or internship in HR
- Advanced skills in MicroSoft Office suite, especially Excel spreadsheet creation
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management, HR or related field preferred
- Experience with a high volume of tasks and requests
- Experience with prioritizing, multi-tasking, and problem-solving in a deadline-oriented environment
- Experience administering payroll processes
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work autonomously and under pressure to meet constant deadlines
- Ability to remain objective and non-reactive when handling emotional issues
- Advanced knowledge of payroll law and processes
- Experience processing payroll in a fast paced manufacturing environment
