Main duties and responsibilities

The Intellectual Property Lawyer is responsible for advising the company on matters related to intellectual property rights, including trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets. This role involves handling IP registrations, managing disputes, ensuring compliance, and protecting the company's innovations and brand assets.

Advise on the protection and enforcement of intellectual property rights (patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets).
Prepare, file, and manage trademark and patent applications, both domestically and internationally.
Monitor and manage IP portfolios and maintain accurate records.
Handle IP disputes, including oppositions, infringements, cease and desist letters, and litigation support.
Conduct IP due diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and partnerships.
Draft and review IP-related agreements, including licensing, confidentiality (NDAs), and assignment agreements.
Liaise with external counsel, government offices, and IP agencies as necessary.
Stay up to date on changes in IP law and ensure company policies and procedures comply with applicable regulations.

Requirements

Law degree and bar admission (license to practice law).
Proven experience in intellectual property law (3–5 years).
Strong knowledge of international and national IP regulations.
Excellent research, drafting, and negotiation skills.
Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
Fluency in English and Latvian
