Main duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the maintenance electrician's position is to perform repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, testing, and process improvements on all mechanical, electrical, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment and systems. The electrician must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation.

Requirements

• Assist in installation of all new equipment, components, and systems
• Assist in start-up and shut-down of equipment as needed
• Work closely with machine operators and maintenance mechanics to ensure work is conducted in a safe manner in regards to electrical and electronic equipment and systems
• Work closely with management to identify and correct potential electrical and mechanical safety hazards
• Report all identified safety hazards to the appropriate member of management
• Perform preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled or directed
• Maintain record of work performed in accordance with maintenance and repair system
• Ensure compliance with local and national electrical code
• All other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical issues in a timely manner.
• Assist maintenance/production staff in determining and eliminating root causes for unscheduled downtime
• Test for, locate, and repair electrical malfunctions
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, electronic, and pneumatic equipment and systems
