Main duties and responsibilities

Responsible for oversight of Particleboard Production / Lamination / Technology, Maintenance, Quality, External Sales, and Logistics including efficiency & uptime, cost, quality, safety, environmental, and meeting production/delivery schedules. The Particleboard Plant Manager also has oversight of housekeeping, machine cleaning, cost effective supply utilization, energy, gas, & water consumption, process improvements, and oversight of policy compliance for the areas of responsibility.

Requirements

• Experience in monitoring cost, quality, production, deliveries, and process improvement issues in a fast paced wood products manufacturing environment.
• Experience establishing and ensuring compliance with Manufacturing Best Practices and PDM standards
• Experience developing cost savings initiatives including redesigning/re-engineering equipment and space (PIP)
• Experience coordinating lab testing processes and procedures
• Experience working with product certification/standardization agencies to ensure compliance with legislative and industry standards for product specifications and testing procedures
• Experience coordinating training, goal setting, work schedules, and staff development.
• Strong data analysis skills and experience implementing problem solving techniques in order to reduce process variation
• Experience in the sale and customer service of raw and laminated particleboard to external customers
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no direct supervision
• Excellent diplomacy skills and the ability to use them with all levels; advanced mediation and negotiating skills
• Advanced understanding of financial practices
• Advanced technical ability in particleboard production and lamination processes

Position will require some international and domestic travel particularly during the initial stages of employment.
