Main duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the Instructor's position is to train associates, using a combination of hands-on and classroom methods, on the safe and efficient operation of all rolling stock equipment to include forklifts, front-end loaders, lifts, lulls, and similar equipment. The position also ensures that once trained, operators continue to operate equipment according to specified guidelines and procedures.

Requirements

• Maintain required OSHA Trainer certification(s)
• Responsible for training on all rolling stock equipment operators and issuing licenses to those who successfully complete the training program.
• Conduct retraining of drivers involved in accidents that result in damage to company property or recordable injury.
• Responsible for maintaining all training documentation in audit ready condition.
• Responsible for creating and maintaining training materials to ensure continued company and legal requirements are met.
• Responsible for training associates on all scanning equipment.
• Responsible for accurate, timely, and neat completion of paperwork.
• Work closely with all team members, supervision, and leadership to identify, report, and correct existing or potential quality issues, productivity improvements, or cost reduction initiatives.
• Conduct audits of equipment on a pre-determined schedule and submit inspection sheet to supervisor.
• Conduct periodic audits of equipment drivers to ensure performance of proper driving procedures.
• Complete tasks in a safe and timely fashion.
• Identify, report, and correct issues related to plant and operator safety.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA Powered Industrial Truck Standard 1910.178 and 1926.602; assist management with compliance issues as needed.
• Represent the company in a professional manner.
• Maintain an excellent attendance record.
• Assist other associates when needed.
• Read, comprehend, and follow all JHSAs, technical specifications, and work instructions for the assigned process task.
• Comply with all Kronospan policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor, or member of management.
