Main duties and responsibilities

Responsible for oversight of Chemical Production / Technology, Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics including efficiency & uptime, cost, quality, safety, environmental, and meeting production/delivery schedules. The Chemical Production Manager will also assist in acquiring and supporting external customers. The Chemical Production Manager also has oversight of housekeeping, machine cleaning, cost effective supply utilization, energy, gas, & water consumption, process improvements, and oversight of policy compliance for the areas of responsibility
This is a Salaried Exempt position and is not eligible for overtime.

Requirements

Excellent attendance record over a multi-year span.
• Excellent disciplinary record over a multi-year span.
• 5+ years in a managerial position in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Advanced mechanical / electrical knowledge and aptitude
• Advanced verbal and written communication skills and the ability to clearly communicate with all levels of associates
• Ability to lead through demonstration, communication, and reinforcement
• Ability to make logical, unemotional decisions in stressful situations
• A strong desire and willingness to both learn and teach
• High level of maturity and self-discipline
• Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and logical approach to problem solving.
• Intermediate computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of products
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and/or in a team environment
• Excellent time management skills
• Must have the qualities of stress tolerance, persistence, self-control, self-organization, integrity and flexibility

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• 3-5 years' experience working in a chemical manufacturing environment
• Experience in the commissioning of new production equipment
• Degree in Chemistry, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology or similar discipline
• Advanced knowledge of OSHA's Process Safety Management program
• Advanced knowledge of product quality standards and end uses
