Main duties and responsibilities
The Buyer position purchases materials, supplies, equipment and services. The position is responsible for the competitive purchase of a wide variety of parts, material, equipment, supplies, assemblies, commodities, Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul (MRO) items and services. The Buyer will be directly responsible for the procurement of materials to support manufacturing and overall business objectives. This position will also support the objectives of the Procurement Team, collaborate closely with Maintenance, Production and Planning, and support the company's overall growth plan. The Buyer will represent the company with a high degree of professionalism when dealing with suppliers, internal and external customers and associates. The Buyer position must follow all Kronospan Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
Requirements
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work without direct supervision
• Strong customer service skills and sense of urgency
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products,
• Ability to use Phoenix, K-Soft,
• High School degree or equivalent
• BS degree in a business field preferred
