Main duties and responsibilities

Responsible for analyzing, forecasting, and clearly communicating sales forecast numbers for all customers. This position will make recommendations for sales and operations based on past sales movement and projected forecast data. The position also identifies and measures risks in order to communicate projected costs and benefits of product sales. With close relationships to Sales, Finance, and Manufacturing, the Sales Office Controller maintains control of budget information and tracks performance against budget.

Requirements

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Self-motivated with the ability to work with little or no direct supervision
• Excellent diplomacy skills and the ability to use them with all levels; advanced mediation and negotiating skills
• Experience developing assumptions regarding the volumes of business which could be expected under the current business plan and under alternative strategies
• Must be current on technical, industry and business issues and trends that affect the company sales efforts.
• Advanced understanding of financial practices
• Advanced technical ability in particleboard production and lamination processes
• Experience providing sales statistics, preparation and analysis in co-operation with Sales Management
• Strong understanding of customer agreements/contracts, rebate plans and credit
• Experience analyzing prices and maintaining control of minimum prices
• Experience maintaining customer master files
• Experience analyzing sales trends and advising management accordingly
• Experience in planning and executing marketing, sales and distribution strategies
• Strong understanding of sales related processes including quotation, sales price management, rebates and discount management, invoicing, credit collection and account receivables (due, overdue).
• Strong understanding of sales budgets and comparison of budget to actual performance
• Ability to guide, motivate and develop direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies in accomplishment of organizational goals.

This position requires advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications, especially Excel and Word. Advanced knowledge of forecast modeling software required. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business or equivalent experience preferred.
