Main duties and responsibilities

The purpose of the maintenance technician's position is to perform a diversified list of duties including installation, repairs, preventive/predictive maintenance, troubleshooting, and process improvements on all equipment and systems. The maintenance technician must rely on their knowledge of electrical and mechanical principles in order to troubleshoot malfunctions to equipment and systems and to repair and restore operation. This position requires overtime as needed

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Intermediate to advanced experience with heavy manufacturing processes and the associated maintenance and repair procedures
• Intermediate to advanced experience with hydraulic and pneumatic processes and principles.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving.
• The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools.
• The ability to read and comprehend complex data including mechanical drawings and schematics.
• Experience in performing advanced preventive maintenance procedures.
• The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems.
• The ability to work independently with little or no direct supervision.
• The ability to work at heights exceeding 30 feet with the aid of man lifts and/or ladders/platforms
• The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
• The ability to work rotating shifts if needed.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Intermediate to advanced knowledge of OSB production processes.
• Associate's degree in industrial maintenance or related field OR equivalent experience

Requirements

• Required up to 1/3 of work time: Sitting, lifting, push/pulling, reaching face shield/goggles, dust mask/respirator, hard hat and high visibility vest.
• Required 1/3 to ½ of work time: Walking, climbing, bending, written communication.
• Required 2/3 of work time or more: Seeing, hearing, standing, dexterity, verbal communication, ear plugs and safety glasses.
